Subject: Fantasy Football Busts Week 13 Jordan Love Jerome Ford Garre
Quote
In a condensed 13-game slate, most fantasy football owners are going to be put in an uncomfortable spot, likely having to roll out some deep bench or waiver-wire options. While this week's player pool is relatively shallow, plenty of potential bust candidates are still out there treading water. Avoiding prime bust candidates like Jordan Love, Jerome Ford, and Garrett Wilson could end up being the difference between a "W" or an "L" in the penultimate week of the fantasy football regular season.Of course, even "must-starts" can have off-days, but you won't see those types of players among our bust picks unle s we legitimately advise benching them. We're looking for players on the start-sit bubble -- not obvious starters and not players owned in just a small percentage of leagues. You might not have enough depth to bench the players below -- or you might just disagree with our picks -- but either way, it's your team, so make the decisions that work best for you. While James Conner,Zach Charbonnet,Javonte Williams, the Jaguars D/ST, and Bills D/ST;lived up to their bust billings last week, we whiffed on most of our selections. That happens every once in a while, but we're focused on bouncing back in an uber-important week.MORE: Don't fall for the trap with this week's potential duds.WEEK 13 FANTASY ADVICE: | | Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders vs. Dolphins (Sloan Piva). Robinson remains a high- Dario Saric Jersey volume back, but last week was a reminder that he's also a low-ceiling back, especially in tough matchups. He still saw 15 carries and three targets, but he plodded his way to just 3.5 yards per carry. Even worse, he got phased out in favor of pa s-catching back Antonio Gibson once Washington started to trail heavily against the Cowboys. All said, B-Rob scored just 7.4 half-PPR points, around what we have him projected for this week against the high-flying Dolphins Juan Hernangomez Jersey , who actually rank among the top-10 toughest RB defenses in fantasy.Joe Mixon, Bengals @ Jaguars (Vinnie Iyer). Mixon was dragged down with the limited pa sing offense without Joe Burrow in Jake Browning's first start, and that was in a good matchup for running backs vs. the Steelers. The Jaguars have been downright nasty in limited production to the position of late, so if you have somewhat decent RB2 alternatives, you can sit Mixon.Jerome Ford, Browns @ Rams (Matt Lutovsky). Ford has been more good than bad, but his usage is inconsistent, especially around the goal line. The Browns offense is running on fumes right now, and the Rams have been consistently strong against RBs all season. Only one rusher (Christian McCaffrey) has gone over 73 yards in a game against them, and no team allows fewer receiving yards per game to RBs (19.1). If you cant count on volume, then youll likely need a big-play TD for Ford to pay off.WEEK 13 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | | Kyler Murray, Cardinals @ Steelers (Piva). It's obviously hard to bench Kyler during a week with six byes, but a road tilt with T.J. Watt and the Steelers seems pretty volatile. Pittsburgh has surrendered the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game (FPPG) to QBs this season, and only one signal-caller has thrown two TDs against Mike Tomlin's squad since Week 5. Fade Kyler if you can.Jared Goff, Lions @ Saints (Iyer). His reality play has been terrible of late with a lot of mistakes, and he's barely salvaging his fantasy value with some garbage-time work. Surprisingly, New Orleans has been weaker vs. the run of late and hanging in there vs. the pa s, and the lo s of Marshon Lattimore doesn't affect too much in a matchup vs. a pa ser who loves throwing more inside. Also, this feels like a good rebound for Detroit's defense and a David Montgomery-Jahmyr Gibbs domination on the ground.Jordan Love, Packers vs. Chiefs (Lutovsky). Love is coming off his best game of the season, and hes on a Andrew Wiggins Jersey heater of a three-game stretch, posting 879 yards and seven TDs. Its going to be hard to bench him in 12-team leagues, but wed be careful against a Chiefs defense allowing the fifth-fewest FPPG to QBs. Its tempting to think this will be a shootout, but Kansas City simply hasnt played in many of those games this year, so dont chase the points with Love and Green Bays middling offense.WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | | | Garrett Wilson, Jets vs. Falcons (Piva). Wilson managed 13.9 half-PPR points against the Dolphins on Black Friday, but his floor with Tim Boyle moving forward remains limbo-low. He's obviously touchdown-dependent, considering the 13.9 included a garbage-time TD. His chances of breaking a big play against a sneaky-good Atlanta secondary seem pretty low, too, considering the longest play he and Boyle could connect for in Week 12 went for a measly 11 yards. Don't get mesmerized by his target share if you have better options, use them.Cooper Kupp, Rams vs. Browns (Iyer). Kupp is playing hurt and now draws a difficult matchup at home Ed Davis Jersey against Cleveland's cornerbacks who are strong inside and out. Puka Nacua is playable considering his better health and targets, but Kupp doesn't look right and could easily be in and out of another game. The age, wear, and attrition is piling up for the once-reliable fantasy superstar.Jerry Jeudy, Broncos @ Texans (Lutovsky). Jeudy hasnt scored since Week 8, and he hasnt topped 81 yards in a game since Week 3. As with most starting receivers, he could always pop a big play or score a random touchdown, but at this point, hes just another guy. The Texans have been above-average against WRs all year, so start him at your own risk.WEEK 13 DFS: | | | Gerald Everett, Chargers @ Patriots (Piva). Many fantasy owners will plug-and-play Everett with a handful of viable tight ends on bye, hoping he can find the end zone again as he did last Sunday night. Don't count on it, though. The Pats have surrendered the fourth-fewest FPPG to TEs this season, with only one TE finding the end zone against them the entire campaign. Everett has also seen two or fewer targets in four of the past five weeks. Fade!Hunter Henry, Patriots vs. Chargers (Iyer). The numbers say "yes," as the Chargers give it up to tight ends pretty well. The Patriots also might be without Demario Douglas (concu sion) at wide receiver. Oh yeah, it's also a revenge game for Henry, who started his once-promising career with the Bolts. Still, he put up a goose egg on the Giants, and it's hard to expect that to crack for viable production a week later.Pat Freiermuth, Steelers vs. Cardinals (Lutovsky). Its tempting to think the new-look Steelers offense has unlocked Freiermuth for good, but we think last weeks Robert Covington Jersey breakout was mostly because of the favorable matchup. The Cardinals have been surprisingly good at TEs this year (last weeks two-TD game by Tyler Higbee notwithstanding), so we expect Freiermuth to shrink back to mediocrity.Cincinnati Bengals @ Jaguars (Piva). The Bengals have fallen from grace in just about every way, even on the defensive side of the ball. After ranking as the DST6 through the first six weeks of the season, they rank as the DST24 since. Cincinnati has allowed 30-plus points in two of its past three games, in large part because Zac Taylor's offense just can't stay on the field without Joe Burrow under center. Jacksonville has figured things out over the past month, so we would caution you against streaming the Bungles in this tough road game.Kansas City Chiefs @ Packers (Iyer). The Chiefs' defense is showing a few more holes, and the matchup isn't bad for the Packers when weighing their power running game and top wideout now being Jayden Reed inside. Jordan Love is playing well, making it tough to trust a good defense on the road in prime time.San Francisco 49ers @ Eagles (Lutovsky). If Lane Johnson (groin) is out again, San Franciscos outlook gets a little rosier, but the Eagles are a tough offense for anyone to stop. Theyll get some sacks and a turnover or two, but the 49ers ceiling is a lot lower than usual.
